About Amy

What do you want to be when you grow up? As a child, Amy always wondered why she didn’t have a solid answer to that question. She later realized it was because she valued the natural evolution of life. She never really fit into a mold, & didn’t desire the standard approach to this thing called “life.” She discovered that one’s personal yoga practice also needs no mold. It’s fluid, taking on any shape, just like life off the yoga mat.

After years of teaching middle school in the California public system, she discovered her readiness to SHOW her students HOW to go after their dreams. It was scary, messy, and beautiful all at the same time. This is what brought Amy to teach yoga as her full-time career. After 15 years in the classroom, she handed in her resignation & moved to an island to teach yoga. Her motto: If your dreams don’t scare you…they’re definitely not big enough!

Distance running was always a source of inspiration for Amy, & due to injury, that dream ended suddenly. Amy felt lost. Fear & self-doubt catapulted her into a downward spiral of confusion & uncertainty. Eventually, she also endured severe vertigo. Her sense of balance & direction were gone, leaving her devastated.

With time, & the support of her yoga practice, she rebuilt her confidence & identity. All the power that was taken away had slowly become hers again. Yoga is more than a physical practice to Amy; it is a lifestyle.

She has been teaching yoga for almost a decade. Her classes enhance your life, linking breath & mindful movement. Through yoga she rediscovered herself, and that's why she teaches. It is her passion & truth.

Amy’s time spent living in California granted her the opportunity to learn the importance of community in the yoga world, what it was like to teach in traditional studio settings as well as in the gym environment. Currently, her time living in Hawaii has allowed her the chance to BUILD a yoga community that exists of authentic, genuine souls that have a passion to create, cultivate, & elevate.

Her experience ranges from organizing fund-raising events that intertwine the fitness & yoga world, to years of brand ambassadorship for Fabletics which enables her to teach classes monthly on the stage of the world-renowned International Market Place in Waikiki Beach! The variety she has experienced in her yoga journey translates into the diversity in her teaching style. Her greatest desire is to develop a profound connection with her students. THEY are her greatest teachers!! 😀
